Schmitz Cargobull opened its insulated truck trailer and semi-trailer production facility in Lithuania in 1999, and by 2013 productivity had reached an all-time high, generating profits of 127 million Euros, a substantive 1.7% rise on the previous year. And as for productivity, the unit’s 260 strong team has an output level four times higher than that of their sister factory – 16- 18 vehicles per 8 hour shift in comparison to 6-8 vehicles. Results have been so good that the company has expansion plans mapped out until 2020.
