New Paroc financial service centre to get EUR 4.8 million investment
Lithuania is one step closer to its goal of becoming the key hub for business service centres in North-Eastern Europe. The Paroc Group, a leading European manufacturer of stone wool insulation materials, has opened a financial services centre in Vilnius.

Bank of Lithuania forecasts rapid economic growth
Following faster than expected growth over the first quarter of this year, the Bank of Lithuania lifted its growth forecasts for this and next year. The country‘s GDP is now expected to rise by 3.0% in 2012 and 3.5% in 2013 -- 0.8% and 0.2% higher than the initial forecast.

Bloomberg: Nordic Cost Cuts Create Baltic Jobs
Mattias Loov sought to cut costs for his clients at Stockholm-based H1 Communication AB after the global economic crisis hit the Nordic region. He found a solution 760 kilometers (475 miles) across the Baltic Sea.
“Everyone’s looking after their overheads and trying to provide good services in a cost-effective way,” Loov, H1’s chief executive, said in a phone interview. He sees outsourcing to Baltic region, which also includes Latvia and Lithuania, as an emerging trend.

COWI to open IT service centre in Vilnius
Danish engineering consulting and design company COWI A/S is establishing an IT operations and service centre in Lithuania to centralise and optimise the operations it carries out across five continents.
Over the next two years, the company plans to invest LTL 5.3 million (EUR 1.5 million) in the centre - which will be in Vilnius - and employ 20 people.
