Global Services Location Index 2011 raises Lithuania from 21st to 14th spot
While a sluggish recovery continues to create the kind of pressure for economies that drive business outsourcing, an increasingly complex global economic environment has led to major changes in the ranking of the most attractive offshoring destinations, according to the most recent 2011edition of the global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney's Global Services Location Index.

Lithuania’s GDP growth exceeding EU average and most of EU-27
Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, has calculated that Lithuania’s 4th quarter (4Q 2010) GDP increased 1.7 %, and the yearly growth reached 4.4 %.

The Central Bank of Lithuania (Bank of Lithuania) believes that the national economy will grow stronger than previously estimated this year.

FDI flow surge in 2010
Last year FDI flow to Lithuania increased and amounted to EUR 434 million, Central Bank of Lithuania and Lithuania Statistics have reported. In December 2010 the market absorbed the FDI flow of EUR 136 million, by 78% more than in November last year.

Lithuania attracted by 42 % more foreign capital
42 new investment projects were launched in Lithuania in 2010, bringing by almost 42 % more capital to the market, in comparison with the year 2009, FDImarkets.com online data base reported. The database owned by The Financial Times tracked 35 FDI projects in Lithuania in 2009, by 20 % less than in 2010.

Application for Apple’s Mac created by Lithuanians made a record $ 1 million in 20 days
Pixelmator, an innovative and easy-to-use software developer established by two Lithuanians in 2007, earned $ 1 million in only 20 days from sales of their photo editing application at Apple’s online Mac App Store.
