New Shanghai-Kaunas Cargo Route
A new cargo route from Shanghai in China to Kaunas Airport in Central Lithuania has been launched this week. The new air cargo route is the first of its kind and size in the region.

Economic Freedom in Lithuania Ranked 33rd
Lithuania’s economic freedom score is up from 35 in 2009 to 33 in the latest Economic Freedom of the World: 2010 Annual Report by the Fraser Institute, Canada's leading public policy think-tank, analyzing 141 countries of the world. Lithuania got an overall evaluation score of 7.03 out of maximum 10 points.

Swiss financial corporation UBS ranked Vilnius 63rd least expensive capital among 73 cities, and less costly to live in than Latvia's Riga (57th) and Tallinn of Estonia (61st).

Lithuania Outpaces Many in Digital Economy Rankings 2010
Lithuania is ranked 34th among 70 countries from around the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) in its Digital Economy Rankings 2010. Lithuania was ranked higher than Hungary (35th), Latvia (37th), Poland (39th), China (56th) and Russia (59th), while first places were given to Sweden, Denmark and the United States.
