The Parliament of Lithuania (Seimas) has adopted amendments to personal income tax and VAT laws: namely, the rate of personal income tax applied on income from individual activities has been reduced and the validity of the reduced VAT rates has been prolonged.

Latest calculations by Statistics Lithuania show that over a year (October 2010, against October 2009), Lithuanian exports and imports increased by 43.5 % and 37.6 %, respectively. Also, in January–October 2010, compared to the same period in 2009, exports and imports grew by 30.2 % and 29.9 %, respectively.
