Visit Lithuania by a Hot Air Balloon at the World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai
Visitors of the World Expo 2010, which will open in the Chinese city of Shanghai on May 1st under the slogan “Better City, Better Life” and will last for 184 days until the end of October, are kindly invited to get into a hot air balloon at the Lithuanian Pavilion and experience an imaginary, however very realistic, journey to Lithuania –one of Europe’s greenest and cleanest countries with untouched unique nature, white-sand beaches and open-hearted people.

European Innovation Scoreboard 2009: Lithuania among Moderate Innovators
In the ninth edition of the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), which provides a comparative assessment of the innovation performance of EU-27 Member States, Lithuania has showed a significant improvement climbing from the group of Catching-up countries to the group of Moderate innovators.

FDI in Lithuania Grew by 5 % and Lithuania's Investment Abroad Increased by 14 %
Statistics Lithuania has calculated that, based on provisional data, FDI in Lithuania in 2009 amounted by 5.3 % more than in 2008. Also, direct investment of Lithuanian enterprises abroad grew by 13.9 % in 2009.

EUR 1 billion & 5300 New Jobs in 2009
Figures recently published in the FDImarkets.com investment monitor database show that 28 foreign companies invested over EUR 1 billion and created 5300 new jobs in Lithuania in 2009. The online database tracking crossborder greenfield investment covering all sectors and countries worldwide FDImarkets.com recorded a total of 35 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the country last year.

World Bank: Lithuania Will Lead the Recovery in 2010
The World Bank’s new “EU-10 Regular Economic Report” says that Lithuania will show the largest improvement in economy growth in the Baltic States’ region as well as will lead the recovery in 2010 in one line with Poland, Slovakia, Romania and the Czech Republic among the EU-10 Member States.

Upgrade by Moody's
Moody's rating agency today upgraded the Lithuanian Government‘s borrowing rating to Baa1 and changed its rating outlook from negative to stable.
